Nobody seems to be commenting over there. What's the fun of a blog without comments? (Or is that not an appropriate question to ask the good Dr. Smith?)

There are some comments but I wonder if they must be moderated first and some are not up? Also, I noticed that I commented on a post and the comment was not showing for a while and then only when I clicked on comments. It could be a bug in the software there or perhaps people are just not commenting much?
Being a group blog, entries aren't on the main page for very long so there's less incentive to post comments.
My daughter spent two years at U of Arizona and it was not a good experience. Some of her study guides had misinformation and her instructors were all lefties. Her English comp instructor, a grad student, spent the last class session, intended for review, in a rant about Ronald Reagan. How he was an actor mouthing lines written by others, etc, etc.
Last year, she returned to California, started junior college and found a real learning experience. She got a job. She started as a hostess in a restaurant and graduated to waitress in a couple of months. She proud of her paycheck, insisting on using her own money to buy me a Christmas present, for example.
Learning is where you find it. These days, it seems not to be in college. I wonder about the declining numbers of male students which lots of people seem to worry about. Maybe they have simply recognized the poor ROI of college these days. I personally think junior college is a better deal.
My middle daughter went to Jr college, then transferred to UCLA. She got her BS and is now finishing a Masters in Library Science. She has gotten a five year scholarship with stipend to get her PhD in history. She has worked the whole time. She has also learned three new languages, including Arabic, for her research. Her sister has been trying to recruit her for the FBI because of her language skills.
Michael, that is wonderful success for your children. I know you are proud, I hope I can do as well as you.
