I have been shopping the 50% off cookware sale
at Amazon to look for good deals on pots, pans and possibly another slowcooker. I have this All-Clad one
that I got as a gift and it has been the best thing ever--especially for someone like me who doesn't cook much. Tonight we made an organic pot roast with potatoes and it was awesome. If you haven't checked out this sale, you might find it of interest.

I have never heard the term organic associated with meat. I only buy meat from friends of mine who don't use growth hormones. Is that how you mean the term organic?
I am curious about the term, organic, because it is a bit slippery on occasion. An example: would cattle finished on genetically modified corn qualify?
I know this comment might sound a little strange, but it seems to me that "organic" is a little subjective. I am curious as to what people think it is.

The package says it doesn't use growth hormones or antibiotics--I guess that's what is meant by organic for this pot roast. It's probably a gimmick but it sounds good--see there I go with my PC indoctrination.
All-clad makes great cookware - I have a few saute pans and saucepans, all gifts from my husband - and they are the best.
I remember sneering at the crockpot I received as a wedding gift. Silly me. Now I have two.

Actually, if a meat processor is going to use the word, "organic", it has to operate under guidelines set by the USDA Organic Program. On that link you will find another one called the National List of Allowed and Prohibited Substances that can tell you about what is and isn't allowed when a food is labeled organic.

Yes, he does but I am trying to learn to make a few more things to take the burden off of him. I do want to point out that I do most of the laundry though so it does even out.
I used to wish I could sing. Now I wish I could cook. Swanson and Banquet get way too much of my money.
